In the next 50-over World Cup, Ben Stokes played a key role in England’s victory and scored an unbeaten 84 before registering a Super Over win against New Zealand.

Ben Stokes had announced his retirement from international one-day cricket in the summer, calling the schedule for England playing all three formats “untenable”, although Key refused to rule out the possibility of him playing in India.
