Gabriel Jesus is on the list along with Kevin Campbell, Paul Merson, John Hartson, Nicolas Anelka, Davor Suker, Francis Jeffers, Jose Antonio Reyes, Julio Baptista, Eduardo, Park Chu-young, Lukas Podolski, Lucas Perez, Alexandre Lacazette

Jesus, a former Manchester City striker, signed a five-year, £45 million agreement with Arsenal and scored on his debut against Nurnberg after just 90 seconds.
The Brazilian great is wearing the No. 9 shirt, joining a long history of illustrious and not-so-illustrious Premier League players who have donned the renowned number.
Some have claimed that the shirt number is cursed after a string of high-profile failures, including “fox in the box” Francis Jeffers, South Korean Park Chu-young, and Lucas Perez.

But while wearing No. 9, Nicolas Anelka, Lukas Podolski, and Eduardo became fan favorites with Arsenal.
Having looked at other players who wore the number 9, we focus on Gabriel Jesus who seeks to be the first player to achieve unqualified success while wearing that shirt.

Numerous stars who left a favorable impact on fans while wearing No. 9: Lukas Podolski, for instance, did not live up to his remarkable international goals record for Germany, but he was well-liked by fans.

The German’s powerful shooting and respectable league scoring record of 19 goals in 60 games make him one of the best signings on this list.

Similarly, the talented Brazilian-born forward Eduardo da Silva was revered by Arsenal supporters.

The Croatian international had a fantastic left foot, was a classy facilitator, and was a devastating striker, as exemplified by his impromptu “beach goal” against Burnley in 2009.

After a horrific leg-breaking tackle by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor, his career was never the same, and he left with a record of 21 goals in 67 appearances – he could and should have scored more.

Now it is Jesus’s turn. He may not be a natural striker, but he should be an improvement over Alexandre Lacazette, who left last summer to rejoin former club Lyon on a free transfer.

Jesus all the versatility and pedigree to be a success at Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta will be hoping he can erase the failures of former No. 9s.
