CricketCan Lucknow Super Giants Defend Their Castle Against Strengthened Sunrisers Hyderabad Side

Lucknow Super Giants have lost a match in this season but haven’t looked weak at all. Their batting is one of the most destructive in the tournament and with inclusions of Quinton de Kock, it becomes more aggresive and compatible with international experience.

However, the inclusion of Quinton de Kock means a way out for either Kyle Mayers or Marcus Stoinis. But Mayers has done no wrong to miss a game, infact, he has the most prolific batter in stock of Lucknow Super Giants.

Leaving Stoinis is a tough choice, he is a game changer and with strength he bats. Also, he can help up the team in bowling department and on a pitch like Lucknow, he can be handy.

It’s been two match already done for Lucknow and we haven’t seen the best of KL Rahul. So, he is likely to make a comeback innings against Hyderabad in today’s game.

Their bowling has been at its best, it looked quite disarrayed in the second match against Chennai Super Kings. Avesh Khan missed his mark from the beginning, with unavailability of Mohsin Khan, LSG needs an experienced bowling attack that can’t be intimidated.

They played wonderfully in the first home game, as we saw the best of Mark Wood who had plenty of pace unleashing against DC batters. Ravi Bishnoi and Wood got three wickets each in high scoring encounter against CSK.

LSG has heavy and healthy batting order, Kyle Mayers already having two half centuries to his name. Deepak Hooda hasn’t looked at his best but he’s a good batter once gets going. Nicholas Pooran, in both matches he played, has played the cameo role and looking to absolute attack.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Will Come With Strengthened Squad

Hyderabad lost their first match of the tournament but they were without the big names. Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen have joined the squad, now the team looks different in entirety.  They bat deep with a couple of international all rounders linking the batting order to bowling.

Rajasthan Royals got better of them in first match, Hyderabad conceded more than 200 runs and could only score 131 in a high chase. It was a wake up call for Harry Brook who was a big signing for the team. Hard to play in IPL, but this will be an evening game, so Harry Brook might enjoy batting here.

Aiden Markram, the team’s elected captain and a hard hitter (average: 40.54), who, like de Kock, returned from playing for South Africa, will no sure make Bhuvneshwar very happy when he takes over.

The first issue for Markram will be to inspire his group after they were outperformed and overwhelmed by the Royals in their opening game. The Sunrisers team is talented, but if they want to resume their winning ways from when they won the championship in 2016, they must put that setback behind them.20230407_135050240x300
