Carlo Ancelotti was presented as Real Madrid’s new head coach on Wednesday evening in a press conference where he discussed, amongst other topics, Sergio Ramos’ future.
Carlo’s opinion about Ramos’ future
The Italian coach stressed that he has not talked with the club about the Real Madrid captain’s contract, one which runs until the end of June, and made clear that talks will take place in the coming days. What I know is that Real Madrid are going to compete in all competitions said Ancelotti.
And we are going to do it with the best possible squad. As for Sergio, I’ve only just arrived and I have to talk with the club. We will do so in the next few days. I did not imagine a Real Madrid without Ancelotti and it happened. This return has been very quick; we started on Saturday. I have not had time to talk about the squad. I really like being back and working with some of the players I did in the past. We haven’t had time to talk about it.”
Real Madrid has to play attacking football
Asked which style he will attempt to impose on Los Blancos, the former Everton coach indicated that Real Madrid must play attacking football. same as I did the other time,” added Ancelotti. Play well, more intense football, more aggressive, more organized. Football has to be attacking and spectacular, because that is what the history of Real Madrid and the fans demand. Benzema has to score 50, not 30. And Vinicius [Junior] has to score more goals, everyone has to score more. Benzema is a top striker and has made a lot of progress. I have a lot of hope in a lot of the young players. The target is to score goals. This does not mean to sign a striker who scored 30 goals; you have to look for more goals from the wingers.”
