Once Madridista, always Madridista

He is one of the great Madridista attractions in the Champions League. Vinicius Junior, together with Karim Benzema, is the greatest agitator in this edition of the highest continental club competition. The Brazilian, who has participated in the nine games that Madrid have played so far (six in the group stage plus three in the knockout stage), has scored two goals (against Shakhtar in Kiev on a memorable night with two formidable goals ), he has given five assists (all to Benzema, one of which served the Frenchman to score Madrid’s 1,000th goal in the European Cupand the last two have allowed him to open the scoring against PSG at the Bernabéu and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge): it is the highest number among teammates in the competition. He even forced a penalty (carried out by the Sheriff’s defense, also at the Bernabéu), transformed by Karim into the momentary tie at one point.

Big breakthrough for Vinicius Junior

Vinicius has knocked down the door this season. Benzema’s squire, he has become a fixture in Ancelotti’s schemes. And the Brazilian has returned that confidence where he knows best, on the pitch. He does not stop producing good news in the final phase of plays : in this edition of the Champions League he has made 153 passes, of which 117 (76.47%) have been in the last third of the field. His good decision -making, an aspect in which he has improved notably, has led to this becoming 15 scoring chances.
