The Real Madrid coach is getting ready for the clash against Barcelona. As you may know, Los Blancos will play against Blaugrana in the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals. Spanish newspapers say that Carlo wants to play with the same line-up as he did against Klopp’s Liverpool.

Draw against Atletico Madrid

After the recent draw against Atletico in the league, Ancelotti has emphasized that the KO tournament is their top priority. The lineup he selects for the game against Barça will reflect this sentiment. They aim to field a strong team capable of advancing quickly towards the title in the Champions League. Carletto will not be distracted by the upcoming match against Betis at Villamarín (Sunday, 9:00 p.m.). Instead, Madrid will deploy all their best players to secure the best possible result for the return leg (April 5). The absence of Lewandowski, Pedri, and Dembélé will be felt by the Catalans, but they should be back by the time of the return match, barring any setbacks.

Courtois will not be replaced

On paper, Courtois will be protected by Carvajal, Militao, Rüdiger, and Nacho, who will act as the “3” in place of injured players. Nacho has particularly shone at left-back, where he has been almost immovable. Alaba and Mendy’s absences give him a chance to shine. The entry of Nacho due to Alaba’s injury was crucial in changing the outcome of the game against Liverpool. Meanwhile, Militao and Rudiger are improving their understanding and will have a great opportunity to prove themselves on an important stage.

Camavinga’s role

Camavinga is likely to play as a pivot, although there are some doubts regarding his ability in this position. Cama has been improving and is in better shape than his compatriot Tchouameni, who is yet to return to his best form. Kroos and Modric are expected to play as non-negotiables in the midfield, especially on important nights like this Thursday’s match. While Kroos has played as a ‘stopper’ in specific situations, such as in the derby against Atleti, he will be looking to return to his natural position against Barça. As a result, Tchouameni and Ceballos, who started against Atleti, may be the big casualties in the midfield.
