Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly made contact with one of his former players Richarlison, whom he coached at Everton over the past two seasons.

Richarlison is a new name in Madrid’s list

A new name has emerged as a potential new signing for Real Madrid this summer: Everton’s 24-year-old striker Richarlison. While much of Real Madrid transfer news has focused on Kylian Mbappe, new Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti has made contact with the Brazilian forward to sound out his interest in joining the LaLiga club, according to Goal. The Italian coach is reportedly eager to work with the Everton striker again, whom he coached during his time with the Toffees over the past two seasons.

Carlo has a good relationship with Richarlison

With Richarlison currently on international duty with Brazil at the Copa América, Goal reports that Ancelotti’s initial contact with the Brazilian forward was nothing more than an informal conversation, but those talks could evolve into a formal offer over the coming weeks. The 24-year-old Premier League player is not a typical center forward and performs better with a real nine alongside him, a role that Dominic Calvert-Lewin plays as his strike partner at Everton. In fact, Calvert-Lewin, another of his former players whom Ancelotti admires, has also been linked with Madrid following the Italian coach’s return to the Spanish capital, as reported by the Mirror a few weeks ago. Along with Calvert-Lewin and former Madridista James Rodriguez, Richarlison formed part of an attacking trident that helped to make Everton one of the revelations in the early stages of last season. However the club lost its initial title-contender form as the season progressed, eventually finishing a disappointing 10th before Ancelotti left to take up the offer from Madrid. Real Madrid has a big list of transfers on the way. Keep in mind that Ancelotti wants to get players for his strategy also.
