Salah is as professional as Ronaldo and all-time great at Liverpool, says Carragher, with one Red legend calling for another lucrative new contract.
A little about the topic
Several senior stars on the Klopp’s team have written fresh terms in recent weeks, with the likes of Van Dijk, Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Robertson trading their respective heavyweights Merseyside futures. Mohamed Salah is said to be next in line after hitting 100 Premier League goals in his last departure from the top, and Jamie Carragher believes the Egyptian forward destined to secure a position among the Anfield greats of the past deserves another substantial pay rise.
What did Carragher say about Mohamed Salah?
Jamie Carragher said that although Liverpool did not play as much this summer as other teams, they have had a lot of players signing new contracts. The one yet to be signed is Salah. Mohamed Salah obviously wants a couple of pounds. And rightly so. Good luck to him. Mohamed deserves it. Mohamed Salah deserves to be one of the highest paid Premier League players for what he has done since coming to Liverpool, he really does.
Salah is never injured and he is the top scorer year after year. He just is. That’s who he is. According to Jamie Carragher he will say something else. When you choose your always Liverpool XI, there are positions where you just think it’s in place. Graeme Souness, Alan Hansen, Steven Gerrard, John Barnes, Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush. You could fill all of these positions no matter what this command does.
There is no one you think of on the right. Mohamed Salah will be in that position when he ends his career in Liverpool. Salah will be in that Liverpool XI. Carragher has no doubts about it. When you think about hitting 29 or 30, they talk about Ronaldo being 36, this guy is a machine in terms of how he looks after himself.
Carragher thinks Mohamed is as professional as Cristiano, he looks after his body, and Carragher thinks there are many years left in Mohamed Salah, so Jamie just hopes it gets sorted out sooner rather than later. You always argue about money, the player wants a little more, the club wants a little less, but this needs to be sorted. Fingers crossed him because Salah deserves it for what he did for Liverpool.
