Cassano boldly claims Antonio Conte’s style of play is horrible
Antonio Cassano has made a bold claim that Antonio Conte plays bad football despite the tactician being close to winning the title.
Arguably Cassano is not a fan of Conte and the way the coach has got his Inter side playing football. The veteran forward has explained that Conte is parking a bus with all players behind the ball.
Inter tops the table 11 points clear with 8 games to go but Cassano has claimed his play is horrible.
“Inter will win the Scudetto because the only way they could lose it is by throwing it out the window,” Cassano admitted.
“But I have to say that, despite this, they play bad football,” he argued.
Cassano blasts Conte’s tactics insisted that the Inter Coach doesn’t want a true winner because of his defensive approach.
“When it comes to options in the transfer market, who would come in? Conte doesn’t want true winners,” he insisted.
“He plays a 5-3-2 formation, with everyone behind the ball, deployed there to defend their goal.
“He parks the bus and no one gets through. This kind of football gives me the creeps, it’s horrible,” he explains.
“If I had a coach like this, I’d go to the president and get him to sack him,” he boldly claimed.
Meanwhile, former Inter Goalkeeper Ivano Bordon has a different view on Conte’s Inter Milan reign. The veteran goalkeeper has heaped praise on Conte saying he reminds him of Eugenio Bersellini’s 1980 inter coach.
“Conte reminds me of Eugenio Bersellini (Inter’s Serie A title-winning coach in 1980) because he was a very hard taskmaster as well,” Bordon said.
“He’s built a solid team and developed youngsters like Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni.
“Aside from Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, I like Achraf Hakimi a lot as well,” he added.
“Inter could begin a winning cycle now, but they need three quality signings for Europe. I’d think most of all about a back-up for Lukaku, but my dream signing would be… Kylian Mbappe at PSG.”
