According to Cricbuzz, the draft schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy has been submitted to the ICC, with the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match slated to be the final league game of the eight-team tournament. The competition is set to take place from February 19 to March 9, with Lahore being proposed as the venue for the epic showdown.
While the schedule is subject to approval from the Government of India for matches to be held in Pakistan, the PCB is reportedly moving forward with preparations, identifying Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi as potential venues for the tournament. Karachi is set to host the opening match, with Lahore designated as the center for India games and the final.
Although the possibility of a hybrid model, similar to the one used in the 2020 Asia Cup, is being considered if approval is not granted for matches to be held in Pakistan, both the PCB and ICC are currently focused on the original proposed schedule. However, with the situation subject to change, all eyes are on the BCCI and the Government of India as fans eagerly await the highly anticipated clash between the arch-rivals in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
