Raphael Varane may spark talk of interest from the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd, but the Real Madrid defender has yet to decide on his future.

Decisions will be driven by sporting aspirations

The 28-year-old France international saw fellow World Cup winner Sergio Ramos announcing that he would be leaving Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Another half of the center that has been working for a long time has seen the setting change, but all options remain on the table for the time being. It is clear that the high-ranking Frenchman has not made any definitive plans for his future at club level and is currently focusing on Euro 2020. He did not ask to leave Real and there is a chance that he will bring the away talks to close by signing a new contract in Spain. Varane’s current deal with Blancos should last until the summer of 2022. Whatever he decides on this front to stay or go, his salary needs to increase, so decisions from this stage will be driven by sporting aspirations.

Interest in Raphael Varane

Real would like to see a person with 360 appearances for them within 10 years to renew their association with the club – especially as the mascot captain Sergio Ramos leaves as a free agent. Sergio, now 35, is also associated with leading parties across Europe. Man Utd is not expected to make a move for the Spanish veteran international, but Varane is the main target for the Red Devils alongside Villarreal Pau Torres star. Real’s Asking Price is set to determine if moving to Old Trafford is a viable option, with a lot of speculation to be found when it comes to pricing. PSG and Chelsea are also closely monitoring Varane’s situation, with top tier players forever costing high in England and France.
