Manchester United were indeed wearing black armbands vs Chelsea tonight, as a mark of respect for Harry Gregg

The First Half

The match started with a quite active playing style from the very beginning. At 5th minute Chelsea even had their first attempt when James hit the ball but failed to the net. At 8th minute, Willian had another impressive attempt. At 26th minute Batchuayi failed again to score against Manchester United.

Man. United, on the other hand, started their attempts only after 30th minute, and after several fails, at the 45th minute, the Red Devils finally scored the opener. After Wan-Bissaka’s impressive assist, Anthony Martial found the net.

After Manchester’s unexpected goal, Chelsea tried to score back, but Batchuayi spoiled another excellent attempt.

To sum up, Chelsea was using more active and impressive pressing against Manchester United  across the whole half.  But despite their pressing, as you see, United proved they deserve a place in top 4 (or at least 5) of Premier League standings.

The Second Half

The start of the second half was a bit chaotic. At 55th minute Kurt Zouma scored a goal for Chelsea, but the goal was soon ruled out after the referee indicated that the VAR had spotted a foul.

At 65th minute Manchester United used their chance when Harry Maguire transformed a corner into the goal.

At 77th min Chelsea had another chance to equalize the scoring. But the referee disallowed that goal due to offside.

Since that moment, none of the teams could score any more goals. Chelsea did their best to save the match, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took six defenders to the pitch and gave no chances to Chelsea. So, Manchester United achieved a 2-0 victory.
