Timo Werner’s tumultuous time at Chelsea could come to an end if Borussia Dortmund can bring him back to the Bundesliga.
Since joining the Blues for £53 million from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020, the 25-year-old Timo Werner has failed to live up to expectations.
After scoring 95 goals in 159 appearances for his former club, he has only 18 goals in 75 appearances for the Blues, with only six goals this season.
Dortmund is considering bringing Werner back to Germany this summer, according to reports.
Chelsea are delighted with the German international despite his troubles and do not want to push a transfer. They have won the Champions League and the Club World Cup with Werner in the lineup.
They are, however, claimed to be’ready to discuss’ if the proper offer comes in for him.
One financial concern for Dortmund would be Werner, who earns more at Chelsea than any other player currently with the Bundesliga club.
He makes roughly £13.3 million each year, compared to slightly over £10 million for Dortmund captain Marco Reus.
Dortmund is also interested in signing RB Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi.RB Salzburg would be looking for a sum of roughly £33 million for the 20-year-old, who has scored 18 goals in 30 games this season.
Dortmund, on the other hand, are unwilling to pay more than £25 million plus bonuses for the German talent.
