New Chelsea signing Kai Havertz looks to hit the ground running as the German wonderkid attended his first training session on Saturday with his new team-mates.

Former Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder has trained with his new Chelsea team-mates for the first time after sealing an £89 million record move on Friday.

The German international joins Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Xavier Mbuyamba, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, and Thiago Silva in signing for the Blues this summer taking the club’s spending to approximately £230 million.

Havertz’s move makes the 21-year-old the most expensive player ever signed by a British club along with Paul Pogba

Moreover, Havertz has revealed the opportunity to work with Lampard had a “big impact” in his decision to move to Stamford Bridge”.

“Of course, he had a big impact on my decision. I loved him as a player and watched him very often. I think I can learn from him now. He is a manager as well”. Said Havertz.

“I think he is a very humble person and a great guy. I can’t wait to play with him and learn from him. He was very offensive like me and he loves to score goals. I also love to score goals as well. So, I think he will help me a lot in my position. Also, maybe on the things that I can improve and I can’t wait to work with him”.

The Germany international registered 18 goals and 9 assists in 45 club appearances during the 2019/21 season.
