Chelsea were rocked by the coronavirus outbreak ahead of their clash with Everton, with the head coach confirming four positive tests.

What did Thomas Tuchel say?

Werner, Hudson-Odoi and Lukaku were all left out of Tuchel’s squad for the game after being infected with the virus. Chilwell, who is currently injured, has also tested positive and will join his three teammates in quarantine over the next 10 days.

The Chelsea head coach confirmed that all four players had Covid-19 confirmed ahead of the start against Toffees at Stamford Bridge, while also explaining Havertz’s absence. Thomas Tuchel said they are positive apart from Kai Havertz, including Chilwell who is also traumatized. Havertz is not feeling well, he is not yet positive, but they are waiting for the test results and they decided not to include him in the squad.

They did some extra tests at 12 o’clock today to make sure who was coming for lunch. From there, they had to choose a team. Will the composition be the same? Tuchel doesn’t know. The situation began yesterday when the players were feeling bad and not practicing. they had to confirm the flow tests and wait for the PCR results. Results are results, and a situation is a situation. According to Thomas Tuchel, they still have a strong lineup and one that they want to push forward and that should be able to compete. As always, they focus on the guys who are there.

Tuchel does not lose concentration

Chelsea’s clash with Everton has not been affected by the outbreak, but if they post any further positive tests, their weekend encounter with the Wolves could be questioned as the Omricron coronavirus variant continues to comb English football. Southampton v Brentford, Red Devils v Brighton, Watford v Palace, Everton v Leicester and West Ham v Norwich have already been recalled, with most of these clubs closing their training grounds to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.

Several Premier League managers have been vigorously calling for the postponement of the bindings, but Thomas insists he is not one of them. Tuchel said that he does not lose his concentration or energy with questions like this. Thomas is confident that Marina and Petr will take care of this. they are in close contact with their doctors. It gets difficult at some point in terms of player overuse, but Tuchel was not involved in these thoughts.
