Chethan Emerges as Most Expensive Buy in KSCA T20 Player Auction

In a surprising turn of events, L Revanna Chethan stole the spotlight as the most expensive purchase during the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Player Auction. The young cricketer was bought for a staggering INR 8.6 Lakh, more than eight times his base price of INR 1 Lakh.

Franchises Show Hesitation Towards Prasidh Krishna

On the other hand, there was some hesitation among the franchises when it came to bidding for Prasidh Krishna, who had been recovering from a quadriceps surgery earlier in the year. Initially listed in Category A, Prasidh found no takers at a base price of INR 2 Lakh. Even after being moved to Category B with a reduced base price of 1 Lakh, teams remained uninterested until Mysore Warriors finally picked him up for the same amount.

Top Buys in the Auction

Aside from Chethan, other notable buys included Shreyas Gopal, who was purchased by Mangaluru Dragons for INR 7.6 Lakh, and K Gowtham, who went to Mysore for INR 7.4 Lakh. The auction also saw the likes of Pravin Dubey, KC Cariappa, and several other talented players finding new homes in different franchises.

Final Rundown of Squads After Auction

As per the tournament rules, each team needed to have a minimum of 16 players and a maximum of 20 players, with a few players from their respective catchment areas. The auction saw Bengaluru and Mysore spending the most, while Shivamogga emerged as the most frugal buyers. The squads for the upcoming Maharaja T20 Trophy are now complete, with each team gearing up for an exciting season ahead.
