Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen explained why he chose to turn down several other offers to join the Red Devils as a free agent.
What did Christian Eriksen say?
Christian Eriksen was approached by a number of clubs in the summer of 2022 after reaching the end of a short-term deal with the Bees. The Danish international ultimately decided to take charge of Old Trafford as, having suffered a cardiac arrest 12 months earlier for Euro 2020, there was a desire on his part to prove he could still cut him at the highest level.
Revealing his reasons for joining Manchester United, the Danish midfielder said they are one of the biggest clubs in the world. According to Christian Eriksen it was a buyout after what happened earlier and how to prove they can get an offer from Man Utd. That was great. This is a huge club that I joined. Eriksen had enough opportunities. Christian had enough options, but it was all about finding the right one.
Christian Eriksen says that of course Brentford wanted him to stay, but he would say where he is in his career, he had the opportunity to approach what he dreamed of and what he hoped for. The Danish player wanted to start his career by going to an even bigger address and he succeeded.
A little about Christian Eriksen
The Danish international returned to competitive football at Brentford in February, having been forced to cut ties with Inter’s Serie A kit due to having a defibrillator.
The ex-Tottenham player impressed back in the PL with bees, allowing him to secure a three-year deal with the Red Devils.
So far, Christian Eriksen has hosted seven appearances for Man Utd and will look to play in their Europa League clash with Sheriff on Thursday, as Sunday’s home game against old Leeds foes has been postponed.
