Lazio can have problems with breaking the rules related to Covid-19. The case concerns the striker of the Roman club Ciro Immobile.

As in almost every game, Ciro Immobile was a very important figure for Lazio in the previous round of Serie A. The forward of the Italian national team equalized the score with Torino in extra time, in the 95th minute (3: 3). Three minutes later (the referee added 8 minutes!) Lazio also scored the fourth and won 4: 3.

And now the Roman club could face serious problems! “Gazzetta Dello Sport,” writes in its Friday issue that Lazio had not previously informed the relevant authorities that Immobile had a positive test result for Coronavirus!

As it turns out, Immobile Covid-19 was identified on October 26 and November 2. So, Ciro underwent two more tests on October 30, and 31. The tests were organized by Lazio and the results were negative. Therefore, the club played Immobile in Turin.

The Roman club justifies itself by saying that “the positivity of the result from the first test was very low”. So, the Italian Football Federation is now investigating the case. Lazio boss Claudio Lotito and team doctor Ivo Pulcini have already been questioned.

Lazio will play against Juventus Turin in the central match of the 7th round of the Italian Championship. The meeting will be held on November 8.
