French manager and former Real Madrid and Blues player Claude Makelele has revealed he played a role in an £85m ($101m) transfer involving Aurelien Tchouameni.

What did Makelele say about Aurelien Tchouameni?

Aurelien Tchouameni has proven to be attracting interest from leading parties across Europe heading into the 2022 summer window. Catching the eye in Monaco, it quickly became a matter of time before the French International was on the move.

Claude revealed that he helped get his fellow countryman to Spain, with the legendary midfielder saying that when Aurelien was about to sign for Real Madrid, he talked to Perez and wanted to know more about him. According to Claude Makelele, the Blues was also interested, but if Madrid loves you, he should go because that’s the best way to be great. Anyone would tell a guy that if you are loved, go because he can be great there.

Makelele says that Aurelien Tchouameni is a very good player. Tchouameni has this double quality, being good in midfield and knowing how to attack. Aurelien is finished. Now, in order to be at the level of Madrid, they must have a personality in the way that Modric does. Makelele says Tchouameni has time and needs to learn from loved ones.

There have been speculations that the French defensive midfielder could become the next superstar in the midfield role, allowing him to overtake the likes of former Real Madrid ace Casemiro. He didn’t get to work with the Brazilian who left over the summer with the Red Devils, with Claude adding when asked if the hot prospect could emulate the South American star that Aurelien would have learned faster with him.

A little about the topic

For now, France international Aurelien Tchouameni is fully focused on international matters with France as they look to defend their crown at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
