According to rumors, Juventus is planning to increase its £19.5 million bid for Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino.

When Juventus made their original bid, Liverpool officials were reportedly unwilling to sell the Brazilian, and it is believed the Italian giants are now willing to boost their offer.

Firmino, who is in the final year of his Reds contract, witnessed a significant decrease in his playing time last season, appearing in 16 less Premier League games than in the 2020-21 season.

Despite the departure of star winger Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, Firmino is no longer the sure-fire starter he was under Jurgen Klopp, thanks to the signings of Diogo Jota in 2020 and Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez in 2022.

According to Tutto Juve, Juventus is eager to entice the centre-forward to Serie A with the promise of more first-team games and plans to increase their bid in the coming days.

Despite their increased pursuit, Firmino expressed his wish to stay at Anfield this summer in May.

‘I’m extremely content here. I thank God that I am here, playing for a great club with great players and winning titles. And my intention is to remain,’ he stated in an interview with TNT Sport.

‘My wish is to remain here.’ I’d like to be here. I’m content here. So that’s all I have to say: I’d like to stay.’

Firmino has started all three of Liverpool’s preseason friendlies, facing Crystal Palace, Manchester United, and Red Bull Leipzig.
