Ishan Kishan Set to Return for Jharkhand in Domestic Season

After being sidelined for not featuring in the domestic season for Jharkhand, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan is making a comeback. The 26-year-old has been included in the list of 25 pre-season probables by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA).

Return to State Team

Kishan, who had previously opted out of the Ranji Trophy, has agreed to play for the state in the upcoming season. There are even talks of him being considered for a leadership role within the team.

His decision to return was influenced by well-wishers and national selectors advising him on the potential missed international opportunities. Kishan had defiantly refused to play for the state last season, focusing solely on the IPL.

Future Prospects

The domestic season kicks off with the Duleep Trophy first-class red ball competition on September 5 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. While Kishan may not feature in this tournament due to his past decisions, representing his state could pave the way for a return to national reckoning.

On a separate note, Jharkhand has appointed SS Rao as the coach for the upcoming season, succeeding Debasis Mohanty. Rao’s appointment was recommended by the JSCA’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).

As Kishan gears up to make his mark in the upcoming season, cricket fans are eager to see how his return to the state team will impact his future opportunities on the national stage.
