England Opener Zak Crawley Out of Test Series Against Sri Lanka Due to Fractured Finger
England opener Zak Crawley will miss the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka after suffering a fractured finger. The 26-year-old sustained the injury while taking a catch in the slip during the Edgbaston Test against West Indies last week.
New Additions to the England Squad
Replacing Crawley in the Playing XI will be Dan Lawrence, while Essex batter Jordan Cox has earned his maiden Test call-up. The 23-year-old impressed selectors with three centuries and 763 runs in 12 County Championship matches this season.
Pacer Olly Stone also returns to the squad after last playing a Test for England in June 2021. He replaces the injured Dillon Pennington, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during The Hundred.

The 14-man squad, led by Ben Stokes, includes Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith (wk), Chris Woakes, and Mark Wood. The first Test will commence in Manchester on August 21.
