Cristiano Ronaldo’s Lisbon apartment renovation gets approval

A little about the topic

Cristiano Ronaldo has received approval to renovate the terrace of his luxurious Lisbon apartment, situated in the heart of Portugal’s capital. The football superstar was previously forced to dismantle a canopy constructed without the necessary permits, but he has now secured the proper permissions.

City Council Approves Renovation Plans

The Lisbon City Council granted Cristiano Ronaldo permission to construct a shaded pergola rather than a canopy, as reported by the Portuguese newspaper Noticias ao Minuto. This decision followed an inspection prompted by a video shared by Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo’s partner, in 2021. Local media identified a metal structure on the terrace that deviated from the original project.

Subsequently, Ronaldo removed the awning, and the city council conducted a thorough review of the apartment. The luxurious property, valued at approximately 7.2 million euros, spans 288 square meters and overlooks Eduardo VII Park, one of Lisbon’s priciest residential areas. It features a spa, a cinema room, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a terrace with a view of the Tagus River.

Architect Criticizes Initial Refurbishments

Jose Mateus, the architect who designed Ronaldo’s apartment, criticized the initial unauthorized renovations. He expressed disappointment and called the changes a “lack of respect” that occurred “without the consent of architects, neighbors, and without an approved project.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently a player for Al Nassr FC in the Saudi Arabian Professional League. Additionally, he serves as captain and all-time top scorer for the Portugal national team.
