The Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) will start from March 26 with the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

This time all eyes will be on the performance of Shreyas Iyer, who will be KKR this season. Iyer’s new team has bought him in the IPL 2022 auction for a huge amount of Rs 12.25 crore and there will be responsibility on his shoulders to perform well.

Iyer has so far scored 236 runs in 11 matches against CSK at an average of 23.60. He has scored only one half-century against CSK and in the meantime his highest score is 70 not out.

Iyer has scored against CSK at a strike rate of 106.78, which includes 22 fours and four sixes. Thus, the records don’t directly speak in his favour but this is a new season and Shreyas Iyer will play for a new team. 

Ravindra Jadeja, the newly appointed captain of CSK, has held the upper hand over Shreyas Iyer. Iyer has struggled to score runs against him, in total he has scored 47 runs in 52 balls against Jadeja and has become a victim of Jadeja once. Meanwhile, Iyer could only hit one six and three fours.

Iyer has a strike-rate of 114.28 against Dwayne Bravo. Iyer has scored 16 runs in 14 balls from Bravo. Meanwhile, Bravo has been able to take Iyer’s wicket once.

Shreyas Iyer was included in the IPL 2015 by Delhi Capitals (DC). He has so far scored 2,375 runs in 87 matches at an average of 31.66 in the IPL. Meanwhile, his highest score is 96 runs. 

Iyer has not scored any century in his IPL career so far. However, he has scored 16 fifties. Apart from this, Iyer has also hit 196 fours and 88 sixes.

Last season, Iyer played eight matches for Delhi, scoring only 175 runs at an average of 35.00. During this he could not even score a half-century and his highest score was 47*.

Wankhede, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders; the symmetry doesn’t seem harmonic as Chennai Super Kings is always tactically and strategically ahead of most of the teams. KKK will try to juggle and find the balancing act before stepping on ground for final face off.
