The EL Classico of IPL is always the most awaited match of the tournament. Usually, it goes down the the wire but this time, Mumbai Indians turned everything around with exceptional bowling attack.
From first ball to the last one, Chennai was never in the game. Losing wickets in clusters didn’t allow them to post a defendable total. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians has been hungry for victory throughout the tournament but this one came in their vicinity and they capitulated it like only Mumbai does.
In the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. Mumbai Indians won the match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with 31 balls to spare. With this win, Chennai Super Kings’ dream of reaching the IPL 2022 playoffs also got shattered. Daniel Sams of Mumbai Indians was adjudged Player of the Match.
Mumbai Indians now face Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 17 and Delhi Capitals on May 21. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings will face Gujarat Titans on 15th May and Rajasthan Royals on 20th May. After this victory, Mumbai’s account definitely got two points, but there was no change in its and Chennai’s position in the points table.
