CricketDan Van Niekerk On Virat Kohli: A Legend Will Always Be A Legend

Cricket is beautiful game that values mutual respect. In this IPL season, Virat Kohli has tried everything but things aren’t going his way at the time. His bad form has given a lot to feed to critics who are slandering him and keep judging him. In midst of all this, South African women cricketer Dan Van Niekerk has shared a tweet for the harsh critics of Virat Kohli.

Something similar happened yesterday when Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings came head to head for the second time in this IPL. Dube and Robin played extraordinary innings to maintain CSK’s dominance over its favourite opponent. Batting first Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 172 runs to equalise the battle by winning the second match.

Everyone has his eyes on Virat Kohli. For a long period, he was in bad form. In the previous match against Gujarat Titans, he showed some form but played a sluggish innings of 53 ball 58 runs. Because of a under par score, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match.

In yesterday’s match, Virat Kohli scored 30 of 33 balls. It is speculated because of this tedious batting, pressure was on captain Faf who lost his wicket while attempting a six over cow corner. A couple of overs later, Glenn Maxwell lost his wicket in run-out while running to striker end on Kohli’s call. What worse could’ve happened, took place out of a sudden. Virat Kohli, too, lost his wicket after playing 33 ball 30 knock, leaving RCB in turmoil.

Some fans as well as critics started to blame Virat Kohli from hither and thither. Captain Faf Du Plessis wasn’t happy with the batting effort even though he led his team to victory.

In midst of all this Dan Van Niekerk wrote this on Twitter in support of Virat Kohli:

Stop looking for reasons to discredit what @imVkohli has done for the game of cricket!! On the up, over extra and made it look easy.. a legend will always be a legend.. accept it! A tournament, a season does not define over a decade of consistent performances! #TATAIPL2022

Some critics think that team is more than an individual player and on all grounds this should first priority.
