The judge considers that Alves is at high risk to hide from the investigation

Dani Alves spent his second night in Brian’s one prison in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, accused of raping a 23-year-old girl on the night of December 30 in the toilet of a nightclub in Barcelona. The investigating judge accepted last Friday the petition of the prosecution and private prosecution carried out by the applicant and sent the footballer to prison. The magistrate considers that, given his economic capacity, he is at high risk of flight and that he resides outside of Spain in Mexico. Regarding Alves’ statement to the judge, the player admitted that he was in that nightclub but claimed that he was only for a short time and denied the sexual abuse attributed to him by the victim.

According to the investigating judge, this contradicts the evidence collected by the Catalan police, who questioned several witnesses, including nightclub security personnel. As reported, the football player said three different things:

  1. He said he did not know the girl he allegedly sexually abused.
  2. He said that he saw her, but nothing happened.
  3. He said that she had jumped on him.

The police collected biological samples from the club’s restroom

In addition, according to the channel, it seems that the football player has shown narcissistic behaviour, believing that he is innocent throughout his presence in front of the judge who is investigating his case. They also collected biological samples from the restroom where the events allegedly took place and looked at security cameras. On the other hand, the victim of the alleged rape rejected compensation from the player. Her goal is for justice to be served and for the Brazilian to pay with prison for what she believes happened that night at the discotheque. According to a newspaper on Friday, which reported her testimony to the judge, the complainant explained to the Catalan police that a Brazilian player locked her in a bathroom in the VIP area and raped her.

Dani’s wife, Joana Sanz, lost “two pillars of her life”

Following the arrest of Dani Alvis, his wife Joana Sanz took to social media to ask the media to respect her privacy. Sanz explained that she recently lost her mother, who passed away a few days ago. The former Barcelona right-back was sent to jail by a Spanish judge on Friday as he is being investigated for sexual assault. “I ask the media outside my home to respect my privacy at this time,” Sanz wrote. “My mother passed away a week ago. I had barely begun to realize that she was no more, and then they began to torment me with my husband’s situation. I lost two pillars of my life. Empathize a little instead of looking for news in someone else’s pain; thank you.”

According to reports, Alves admitted to being at the nightclub where the alleged incident occurred but denied sexually abusing the victim. However, the judge believes that his statement contradicts the evidence collected by the Catalan police, who questioned several witnesses, including nightclub security personnel.
