Portuguese player Diogo Jota is confident that the Reds can compete for a quad trophy again next season.

What did Diogo Jota say?

Liverpool were serious contenders in four competitions in the final term but had to make do with the FA Cup and Carabao Cup as they finished second in the PL and the Champions League. Klopp’s players are looking to improve on that finish this time around by challenging Man City to the top title and bounce back from their European upset by embarking on another run to the final. The Portuguese footballer is confident that his side will come back stronger this time around as they are set to go after their summer break.

The Portugal international told the club’s website that he thinks they ended up having a good break, that’s all. According to Diogo Jota it is obvious that the internationals had these extra days which were very important as well. Jota thinks that they all had the opportunity to relax, start over, do a little reset and be ready to go again.

Diogo thinks this season can be similar hopefully and they need to be ready and of course with the world championship in between as well as throughout the season that will be an added factor… so Jota is hoping for a good season ahead.

The Portuguese added that they are Liverpool, they need to at least fight for all the competitions in which they are involved. Jota hopes that they can be that close and all the decisive moments were last year, although they also know that this is not an easy task, especially when playing in English football. But according to Diogo, they will give it their all and try to do it again.

Diogo supports Darwin

Diogo Jota will be in touch with new Reds striker Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, who has joined from Benfica in a deal worth an initial £64m that could rise by another £21m in additional fees. Darwin Nunez has scored an impressive 47 goals in 84 matches in all competitions for the Portuguese side and Diogo is confident that he too will shine for Anfield.

Diogo Jota said that well, he follows the Portuguese league obviously and what Nunez did last year was amazing. According to Jota, it’s not as easy as people might think! Nunez has scored a lot of goals, including in and against the Champions League, so Jota thinks that is to be expected from him. Diogo hopes Darwin can have the same impact that Luis Diaz did last year because it will be important to them.
