21-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma wants 10 million in a season. The Italian goalkeeper’s contract expires next summer.
AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is demanding improved terms in exchange for a contract extension. According to Corriere Della Sera, Italian agent Mino Raiola has asked the management to increase the player’s salary from 6 to 10 million euros.
It should be noted that Donnarumma’s contract with Milan expires in the summer of 2021, and if the parties fail to agree before that, he will be able to leave the club for free. Despite this factor, it is unlikely that the Rossoneri will agree to a pay rise. Moreover, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Serie A club is trying to reduce the salary budget.
Donnarumma was already embroiled in a scandal in the summer of 2017 for the same reason. Then, before he signed a new contract, the fans threw counterfeit dollar bills during the game. They even invented a mocking nickname – Dollar. Recall that the 21-year-old goalkeeper was brought up in Milan and has played 203 games for the Black and Reds.
