It’s been ten years since India have won any ICC trophy, but the team’s coach, Rahul Dravid, recently said in an interview that his team is not feeling any pressure for the World Test Championship final against Australia. However, he said that it would be good to win the trophy because the team has worked hard for it in the last two years. Team India reached the finals of the World Test Championship in its inaugural edition (2021) and lost the match to New Zealand. They will be giving their second shot at the championship to this team and will be looking forward to a good game.
The team doesn’t feel any pressure-Dravid
While chatting with the media, the former Indian captain and current coach, Dravid, said, “We don’t feel any pressure in terms of trying to win an ICC trophy. Of course, it would be nice to achieve it and win an ICC tournament. But in terms of things, it will be the pinnacle of the hard work the team did for two years and the success that got us there. So there are lots of positives to see where we stand. The team has won a series in Australia and drawn a series there. India has been very competitive everywhere they have played in the last six years, and these things never change whether you have ICC trophies or not , it’s really the bigger picture.
Dravid on Rahane’s comeback
Ajinkya Rahane is going to play his first test in 18 months, and if he fails here, this could be career-ending for him, so he has to prove himself in the WTC final. Dravid also gave his words of advice to the batsman and said, “It is good to have him. We have had a few injuries, which probably gave him an opportunity to come back to the team. It is good for us to have someone of his quality back in the team , he has played some great innings for us in England as well”. Rahane is not only a good batter but a good fielder as well , he took many important catches in the slips for the team.
