The 31st league match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the DY Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai.

In which RCB won the match by 18 runs. With this, this season’s 5th win was registered.

In this match, captain Faf du Plessis, who came out to bat first, played a brilliant innings of 96 runs. On the basis of which the team made 181 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.

Faf’s captaincy innings pulled the team out of a difficult situation

Lucknow Super Giants team captain KL Rahul decided to bowl first after winning the toss in this match.

After which the start of the RCB team was not less than a nightmare. Anuj Rawat on the 5th ball of the first over and then Virat Kohli on the next ball, the pavilion went on.

Due to which the team lost two of its important players on the score of 7. After which the captain Faf du Plessis did the work of handling the team from one end.

In this, he got the support of Maxwell 23 runs and then Shahbaz Ahmed 26 runs. Due to which RCB’s team was able to score 181 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.

Du Plessis scored 96 runs in 64 balls which included 11 fours and 2 sixes. On the other hand, Chameera and Jason Holder took 2-2 wickets in the bowling for the LSG team.

Chasing the score of 182 runs, LSG’s team got the first blow on the score of 17 in the form of Quinton de Kock, who went on to walk the pavilion after scoring just 3 runs. While Manish Pandey also could not do much with the bat and scored 6 runs.

Got out on his personal score. From here, captain KL Rahul along with Krunal Pandya tried to handle the innings. In which both together took the score to 64 but Rahul was sent to the pavilion by Harshal Patel on the personal score of 30.

From here it became difficult for the LSG team to win the match. With wickets falling at frequent intervals from one end. Krunal Pandya definitely played an innings of 42 runs but it proved insufficient for the team to win.

LSG team could manage to score only 163 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. While Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets in this match for RCB. Harshal Patel took 2 wickets while Mohammad Siraj and Glenn Maxwell took 1-1 wickets.
