Dybala and Ronaldo battle for first 100 goals for Juventus
Paulo Dybala revealed that he and Ronaldo are locked in a battle to be the first to reach 100 goals for Juve.
Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo challenge each other
Both men are at a touching distance, reaching a noticeable offensive mark, but have stayed along the path longer than they would like. Argentine international Paulo takes another effort to become a centurion, with Portuguese superstar Cristiano three strikes not before hitting the same target. Paulo Dybala said that he and Cristiano are challenging each other to reach 100 goals with Juve and that Paulo only needs one and he needs three more. He always wants to win, even in training, and if he loses, it becomes difficult for him to deal for a few minutes.
Paulo has seen his efforts to hit 100 goals for Juve frustrated by untimely injured setbacks this season. It has also faced stiff competition for seats amid intense speculation over its future, with no contract renewal agreed yet, due to expire in 2022. The return to competitive action was made on April 7, with the South American last hitting a target in his first game back against Napoli. Cristiano’s latest efforts also came in a game that the Bianconeri won 2-1. The five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or has failed to hit the net in his last two appearances, with questions about his presence in Juventus’s defensive wall the last time he buried under Parma’s Gaston Brugman’s free-kick.
There are rumours about Ronaldo’s departure from Italy
Speculation also suggests that Cristiano may be out of the Allianz Stadium this summer as it approaches the final 12 months of its current deal. Maybe he needs to reach a century before the end of 2020-21 if he wants to achieve this feat with a third club in a row – already hitting that mark with Man Utd and through a record period at Real Madrid. Juventus has seven more games to host this season, with six of those coming to Serie A as Pirlo’s side aim to complete the top four finishes and Coppa Italia’s final exit that is to see the Piazza Bianconeri against Atalanta on 19 May.
