Paulo Dybala is set for new contract negotiations at Juve and Massimiliano Allegri is looking to secure the forward’s long-term future after returning to Turin.

Allegri is determined to hold Paulo Dybala in his hands

Paulo Dybala, whose current contract is due to expire in June 2022, has a lot to do with leaving the Allianz Stadium ahead of the summer transfer window. It has been suggested that Juventus will seek money for the Argentine before he becomes a free agent, but Massimiliano is determined to keep him in hand while he prepares for his second spell in charge.

Massimiliano resigned from his post at Juventus in 2019 after leading the club to five consecutive Serie A crowns and two Champions League finals in a five-year space, but retraced his steps on Friday following Pirlo’s dismissal. The Italian tactician’s first agenda is to tie Paulo to fresh terms, with club officials due to resume contract negotiations with the 27-year-old later this week. The Bianconeri were unable to reach a renewal agreement with Paulo earlier this year, but he has already contacted Massimiliano to discuss his role in the future.

Last years for Paulo in Juventus

The 2020-21 campaign was the worst for Paulo Dybala yet in Juventus in terms of goals and assists, as he managed to score just five times in 26 races in all competitions, setting three more for his teammates. The Argentine International has missed 21 games with injury and struggled to make an impact when he came close as the Bianconeri lost the Serie A crown to arch rivals Inter.

A little about Paulo and Massimiliano

Paulo was a much more influential figure in Juventus when Massimiliano was on indictment between 2014 and 2019. The diminutive frontman found the grid 74 times during this period, including 26 in his stellar 2017-18 season, and averaged one goal contribution every 125 minutes. Both men have taken nine trophies together at Turin, and supporters will hope they can rebuild this lucrative relationship next season as the Bianconeri strive to return to the top of Italian and European football.
