Eden Hazard have a three-year contract with Madrid
Eden Hazard has expressed to rumours indicating that he could be lined up for a return to Chelsea by stating that he does not see himself “away from Real Madrid”. The Belgium international striker has struggled for form and fitness during two seasons in Spain, with little return offered on a €100 million show of faith. It has been reported that the Real are ready to cut their expenses in what is making up to be a big summer of change. Still, the 30-year-old playmaker expects to be back for more in 2021-22. Talking about his future after linking up with his country for the European Championship duty, Hazard said: “I don’t see myself away from Madrid. I have a three-year deal, and when I bring a lot to the team 100 per cent, I know what I have to do.”
The Belgian is going to do big things for Real Madrid
“Right now, I am focused on the Euro 2020, but afterwards, I am going to do big things for Real Madrid.” The La Liga giants invested significant money in Hazard during the summer of 2019, seeing him star across seven years at Chelsea. However, he has been restricted to just 43 appearances for the Los Blancos, with five goals netted, and continues to pick up annoying injuries with alarming regularity. Those struggles have flashed his exit talk, with a retracing of steps to Stamford Bridge being speculated on, but Hazard is still determined to prove his quality at Santiago Bernabeu. The Belgian added: “I had a very unlucky year; I was always a powerful player when I have had consistency. However, I know I’m close to my best shape now, and I hope not to get injured again. I have some wonderful years ahead of me.”
Eden will see a slate wiped clean in Madrid next year, Zinedine Zidane having stepped down as head coach. Hazard noted about the man who snapped him up: “I am sad about Zidane departure; he knows how much I admire him. I spent two wonderful seasons with him. I’m indebted to him for not having been able to give him more.”
