Camavinga hopes Tchouameni comes to Madrid

After a sensational debut campaign for Real Madrid at just 19 years of age, Eduardo Camavinga hopes compatriot Aurelien Tchoumeni will join him for the ride. The midfielder is still on cloud nine after completing a season that saw him win the Spanish Super Cup, LaLiga and, above all else, the Champions League. In an interview, the Frenchman, who is keen to make more history with Los Blancos, threw his support behind the signing of Tchouameni, as Real Madrid continue to be linked with a move for the Monaco standout. “He’s fun, that’s for sure,” said Camavinga. “He’s a player I already know from the national team. I hope he comes to Madrid. I don’t know exactly what the situation is, but I’ve already spoken to him. We’ll see what happens in the next few days.”

Eduardo has the UCL on his mind

After already winning so much at such a young age, Camavinga admits he’s still in a state of euphoria, especially after Los Blancos’ recent Champions League victory over Liverpool. “I’m still in a dream,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve realised what I’ve achieved at the moment, but I might do that during my vacation. I’ll say to myself: ‘What a crazy thing to do’. I already had the opportunity to go to Cibeles to celebrate LaLiga, and I came back for the Champions League. You experience huge emotions, but then you have to know how to make sense of things and get back to work. I had a few days to enjoy myself, but now I have to concentrate on the national team. Although I still have the Champions League on my mind.”

With the World Cup now just months away, Camavinga hopes his performances for Real Madrid will open the door for him to make France’s squad for the tournament. “It’s my club performances that will determine whether I’m selected or not. I’ll go back to the club and try to play as much as possible. Then, whatever happens, will happen,” Camavinga concluded.
