The Women’s Ashes 2023 will start on July 12, which will be a multi-format series comprising one test, three T20s, and three ODIs. The England squad led by Heather Knight is now joined by two uncapped players, Lauren Filer and Danielle Gibson. The former is a medium pacer, while the latter is an all-rounder. Filler has been a splendid bowler in domestic cricket for the last two campaigns. On the other hand, Gibson has been the highest wicket-taker in this season’s Charlotte Edwards Cup. She was also a reserve player for the team in this year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

England’s head coach, Jon Lewis, is very upbeat about the upcoming Ashes series. Talking about the new members in her squad, she told the ICC, “We are looking forward to the stirring Ashes series and are feeling very lucky that our talent pool is growing rapidly. This has empowered us to put together a well-balanced team. She talked about Danielle Gibson and praised her, saying that she is in great form and is improving with both bat and ball. If she is selected in the playing XI, that will offer them a potent player who can change the momentum of the game.

While talking about Lauren, the head coach said that “with a good pace and swing, she is an authentic wicket taker for the team. If she is selected for the playing XI, she will create a gap in our bowling attack, which could impact the test match at a crucial time of the game”. England’s preparation for this week’s matches against Australia A and Australia B is also going well. These matches will give them a great opportunity to practice for the upcoming test match.
