England wins the third test match by 8 wickets
England has defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets. It took only 11 overs to the pair of Ben Stokes and Ben Duckett to get the job done for England. They have defeated Pakistan in the third and final test match, making it 3-0 clean sweep which must be an embarassing loss of the Pakistan team.
It was a dream beginning for 28 years old Rehan Ahmed who tore through Pakistan’s middle and lower order, as his debut continued as the home team fell from 164-3 to 216 all out. As a result, England required 167 runs to win the series 3-0. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett quickly reached that total in just 11 overs, scoring 87 runs and it looked that England will finish the game on day 4.
Following Crawley’s LBW, Ahmed was put in at No. 3 to take a swing in a move that England likes to refer to as a “Nighthawk.” Before missing a hoick and getting bowled for 10, he immediately drove his opening ball down the ground for four and another boundary.
The final score for England was 112-2, with Ben Duckett scoring a half-century in 38 balls. To win, they needed another 55 runs to win the match and complete historical clean sweep. On day 4th, England didn’t take much time to do so, they form they are in every score feels unsafe for the opposite team and Pakistan could only give them the target of 167 runs to win.
What a debut for Rehan Ahmed

Rehan Ahmed made a few records in his debut match which drastically turned match in England’s favour. He has surpassed Australian Pat Cummins’ age of 18 years and 196 days to become the youngest player from any nation to bag in five wickets in his Test debut.
Even Ahmed would acknowledge that the weak Pakistani batting contributed to several of his wickets, but nobody in the England locker room will give a hoot about it. He also bowled a lot of excellent balls.
Joe Root gave him the match ball, and he struggled to contain his joy as he led the England team off the field. Naeem, his father, was smiling around in the stands.
When Saud Shakeel and Babar Azam’s 110-run fourth-wicket stand was broken by Babar Azam’s long hop straight to mid-wicket, Ahmed made the crucial breakthrough and from there on, he looked unstoppable.
Rise of Harry Brook
Jonny Bairstow will have hard time finding his place in the team now. The way Harry Brook has established himself in the team, he looks immoveable for now. Playing in alien conditions, coming into the middle order, he has been hard to catch, his maturity and temperament has been phenomenal.
A lot of credit to goes to McCullum and Stokes who allowed the 23 years to express himself and he went a merry way. The 23-year-old, playing his first away Test series has scored 3 hundreds in 3 matches – scoring 468 runs.
The downfall of Pakistan
Pakistan doesn’t look prepared to face an established team like England. Having been defeated all departments of play, this is the time to reconcile themselves about their approach and recruitments.
In all three matches, they middle order failed to provide any kind of stability or support to the team. There were no hard hitters nor any hard hitter who could take away the match from bowling side.
It has been struggling times for Pakistan’s middle order. Pakistan’s batting collapses in this series:
1st Test: 5-9
2nd Test: 8-60 & 5-38
3rd Test: 7-52
Those are concerning numbers, especially if you are playing in home conditions. Surely, there will be few changes before Pakistan prepares to host another nation for a test series.
