English Premier LeagueEnglish Media – Pulisic lost the trust from Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel explained why Christian Pulisic has not yet started a Premier League match for him in Chelsea since January.

Just one game from the starting line-up

The Blues are unbeaten in Tuchel’s first 11 games in all competitions, with the 22-year-old only earning one FA Cup start against Barnsley. The US men’s team captain has had minor injuries but will be disappointed by the lack of progress under Tuchel, who earlier gave him his professional debut at Dortmund Borussia five years ago.

Tuchel does it brilliantly

“If he starts tomorrow, if he does brilliantly and if he starts against Atlético and if he scores two goals, then maybe he is the captain next season,” said Tuchel of Pulisic. “I know what you mean, but this is too far ahead. We have so many games and he is in my plans. He is an important player and has the potential to be decisive for us from the bench. His job is to be ready, like everyone else, and when the moment comes, he has to be ready. That’s what you sign up for at a club like Chelsea. There is no difference between a Christian or anyone else. When you sign up and play as Chelsea, it’s part of the player’s job description to be impatient and patient at the same time. Impatient because all my players are competitors and want to play every minute, and that’s what they all show every day, hunger and desire. That’s what Christian shows. “

Tuchel has generally opened up opportunities for the entire roster since taking over the leadership. However, several players have yet to start league play for Tuchel, including Pulisic, Emerson Palmieri and Billy Gilmour.

Former manager Frank Lampard has expressed concerns about the size of the squad this season, but Tuchel described it as perfect. “We have the perfect line-up,” he said. “The only thing I’m missing is the ability of the five substitutes to use more players, because that’s been my problem for years.”

Marcelo Bielsa’s side welcomes Chelsea to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon and the Blues have little injury issues before the start. The only players for Chelsea are Thiago Silva, who had a failure to recover from a hip injury, and Tammy Abraham, who has an ankle problem.
