The Red Devils head coach dropped Marcus Rashford from his squad to play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the PL at Molineux.

How was everything?

Marcus has scored two goals in two games for the Red Devils since returning to Manchester United following the World Cup results in Qatar. However, Marcus Rashford surprisingly stayed out of Ten Hag’s starting XI for a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on New Year’s Eve. Instead, the head coach of Manchester United called Alejandro Garnacho. The Manchester United manager was asked why English striker Marcus Rashford ended up on the bench for a Molineux game ahead of the start and cited only internal disciplinary reasons.

What will happen after that for Rashford?

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag made a big challenge by casting Marcus as the team’s top scorer so far this season with 10 goals and four assists in 21 games. However, Ten Hag has shown that he is not afraid to make tough decisions with his players. Erik dropped Ronaldo earlier this season after he left the Spurs early on and also kept club captain Maguire on the bench for most of the campaign. Marcus will be hoping to return to the starting XI when the Red Devils play the Cherries on Tuesday in the PL.

Rashford

Former England international Michael Owen questioned Marcus Rashford’s lead for the Red Devils in Ronaldo’s absence.

As Cristiano closes in on Al-Nassr – with the latest rumors linking him to a sensational return with the Ramos at the Saudi club – the opportunity has come for Rashford to step up and become Man Utd’s leading forward. However, Michael – who has scored 40 goals in 89 caps for England – believes Marcus Rashford will not be able to produce as many goals on his own as Man Utd demands.

What did Owen say about Marcus Rashford?

The former England striker said he hears Erik talking about Marcus Rashford, he probably needs 20 goals, that and another. According to Michael Owen, they had 20 goals right under their noses, but unfortunately, Cristiano sat on the bench for a lot of time. He thinks Rashford is a big contributor but he can’t be your top goal scorer and thinks Marcus Rashford won’t score 30 goals in a season like Rooney or a Van Persie or many other great strikers for years.

Rashford will enter double digits each year on the left side. If they said that the Red Devils would play him in the middle and he would be the main man, Owen would question that. Michael Owen says it’s great to have him back, but Marcus Rashford is contributing to this team, but he’s not their main man.

A little about the topic

English player Marcus Rashford has rebounded from a disappointing 2021-22 with an impressive 10 goals and four assists in all competitions so far this campaign. The player’s performances earned him a call-up to Southgate’s England squad where he scored three goals despite not being given many minutes in Qatar. Marcus Rashford continued his excellent form after the international break with two goals and an assist against the Clarets and Forest since club football resumed.
