Erik ten Hag is Reportedly Prepared to Become Manchester United’s New Permanent Manager
According to reports, ten Hag has grown upset with Ajax’s current circumstances and is considering leaving hence prepared to become United’s new permanent manager this summer.
Rangnick is expected to take on a consultant role at United for the next two years following this season, but ten Hag could offer the 63-year-old a more active role in the dugout.
Ten Hag is widely seen as one of the leading possibilities to succeed Ralph Rangnick as United’s next manager, with Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain also prominently associated with the post.
The Dutchman has been in command of Ajax since 2017, but he is pondering moving for a new challenge due to his frustration with having to rebuild his team on a regular basis.
Ajax’s approach of frequently selling its finest players for large sums has made it difficult for ten Hag to extract the maximum performance from his club.
Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt, Hakim Ziyech, and Donny van de Beek have all departed the club in recent years for large transfer sums.
