The Manchester United manager was impressed by Brazilian player Antony’s more dynamic performance in the Red Devils’ dominant victory over Forest.

What did Ten Hag say about Antony?

Antony was instrumental in the Red Devils’ 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final on Wednesday. The Brazilian was a constant threat from the right wing and it was his attempt that led to Manchester United’s second goal as Hennessey could only parry the ball to Weghorst, who finished smartly for his first goal for the club. Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag was pleased with Antony’s performance as he gave a perfect response to his critics.

The head coach of the Red Devils told reporters after the victory that he thinks Antony played a very good game. Ten Hag thinks he was a threat in between the lanes, he was good in physicality, he had some good moves to go for the opponent. Antony should have scored but it was a great combination.

So they needed to see it more; But according to Erik ten Hag, he’s seen some good moments today and in the last few games and he’s happy with that. The 2-0 just before half time was important because it brought peace to the team and it was a big action from Antony and a rebound from Weghorst. Erik says that Antony is the attacker, that’s why they brought him in.

Games are getting fat and fast for the Red Devils as they are set to take over Reading’s championship in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday. Erik hinted that he already has a tactical gimmick up his tie sleeve, adding that he has something on his mind after today. But according to him, he has to sort out this game and look into his plans, and then he has to look into Reading, and then they make a good plan to beat Reading.

Brazil international Antony took to Twitter to speak out after a wave of criticism amid a slump in form at the Red Devils.

How was everything?

Antony recently struggled to make an impact as Manchester United lost to Arsenal, the latest in a string of bewildered performances after a bright start to life as the red devil. On Twitter, the Brazilian wrote: “An important week for us!!” According to Antony, he strives to develop in order to do his best for the team! Antony says it has always been a dream to be here and he will give everything he has to honor this club because they are stronger together!

A little about the topic

The Brazilian player followed Ten Hag from Ajax to Old Trafford last summer in a deal that ended up costing Manchester United an astounding £85m ($104.9m) on deadline day. Antony started off brightly, scoring on his debut against the Gunners in a back seat at Old Trafford, but received a lot of criticism for a few unattractive displays at a time when many, in particular, took aim at his playing style and skillful approach – which he has yet to master.
