Erling Haaland revealed he has been watching Jamie Vardy videos as he is the “best in the world” at running behind the center-back.
The BVB striker, Erling Haaland has been in the electric form once again this season. The star has grabbed a whopping 16 goals in 14 Bundesliga matches as he competed with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick for the Golden Boot.
However, despite his excellent goalscoring, Haaland has admitted there are still plenty of areas where he can improve. For that reason, he uses videos of former England striker Vardy in his spare time to learn from the 35-year-old.
He said, “I’ve been, not studying, but watching a lot of players. Let’s take an example, the running in behind the center-back when the No 10 has the ball. You maybe have the best in the world at that in Jamie Vardy. I’ve been looking a lot at him on exactly this”.
“That’s how I am. I’ve always been watching a lot of football. I still do. When we play on Saturday, I go home and on Sunday I watch football all day. I have always liked football a lot”.
Haaland, who scored 41 goals in 41 games for BVB last season is expected to move clubs in 2022 as a £64 million release clause becomes active in the summer.
The Norwegian forward has netted 80 goals in 79 matches for the Bundesliga club since moving to Dortmund in a £20m transfer from Red Bull Salzburg.
The likes of Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old who admits he is not the finished product even though he spends a lot of time watching football to improve.
“I think I can improve on everything”, said Haaland.
“I can improve my finishing a lot, everything. I can become faster; I can become stronger so I can improve that. But if I was to improve one thing, it’s, doesn’t be injured. Because If I’m not injured, I can play a lot more games and I can deliver even better”.
