Everton has joined the competition to acquire Jesse Lingard this summer after the 29-year-old midfielder was unimpressed by West Ham’s most recent offer.

After his Manchester United contract ended, Lingard became a free agent. Hence, he was heavily linked to Westham’s return after a standout loan spell the previous season.

However, Lingard’s demands for a £150,000 weekly salary were not met by West Ham’s most recent offer.

Lingard is presently examining the agreement, but he is not very impressed with what he has been given. As a result, the midfielder is now reportedly open to joining other teams.

As such, Everton has expressed interest in acquiring Lingard. This is because they think he can take Richarlison’s spot after the player departed the team to clinch a £60 million contract with Tottenham.

The Merseyside club and Lingard, who is reportedly eager to stay in his native north west, have held initial conversations.

Frank Lampard, the manager of the Toffees, is also eager to complete a deal since Lingard would be a huge acquisition for the team at a time when finances are unclear.

The news that Everton is interested in signing Lingard will be disappointing to West Ham, who have been attempting to reach an agreement with Lingard for the previous few weeks.

The midfielder’s top aim for the next campaign is playing time. Lingard is desperate to get a seat on the aircraft to the World Cup later this year after reviving his career at West Ham.

Lingard was pictured last week while on vacation in Miami, focusing on his fitness. He was seen enjoying the off-season by running along the beach and swimming in the ocean.
