1st half of the match
Koeman decided to change the strategy a little bit. Antoine Griezmann was the main striker for Barca this night. As it seems, Antoine played more as a false nine and he was helping the attacking line as well as midfield. Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati and Countinho were playing from the deep.
In the first 20 minutes, Ansu Fatu scored his first double in La Liga. It’s very clear that Fati is perfect at converting regular moments into the goals. Soon after scoring the second goal, Ansu went straight to the penalty area. Villareal’s defender played badly on Ansu and Barcelona was awarded with the penalty. Lionl Messi went straight to the penalty spot. The Argentinian player converted the shot into the goal and took the 3-0 lead for Barca. In just a few minutes, Lionel crossed the ball into the penalty area and Villareal’s defender scored his own goal.
2nd half of the match
Roland Koeman tested new players in the second half. Barcelona could not score more but they had few chances. Lionel was very close to scoring 1-2 more goals in the second half but the goalkeeper saved all the shots. Koeman’s team demonstrated power in both – defense and attacking line.
After the match everyone praised Ansu Fati. Koeman said that the player is still very young. He is 17 years old and already scoring double-hat tricks in La Liga.
