Cup holders, Manchester City claimed a comfortable win over Port Vale. Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers produced a brilliant fightback to draw 3-3 against Watford.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Sergio Aguero, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Phil Foden’s goals drove City to a 4-1 victory over Port Vale.
The League two side (Port Vale) found their first goal through Tom Pope.
The League One strugglers, Tranmere delivered the performance of the day. They came from 3-0 down at half-time to earn a replay against last year’s beaten finalists, Watford.
Tom Dele-Bashiru, Nathaniel Chalobah and Roberto Pereyra gave the Hornets the upper hand. Nonetheless, the Wirral outfit battled back in the second half.
Connor Jennings netted after the hour. Manny Monthe made it a 3-2 with 12 minutes left at Vicarage Road.
Mason Barrett fouled Corey Blackett-Taylor which resulted in an 87th-minute penalty. Paul Mullin concerted and gained an equalizer.
Brighton and Aston Villa were knocked out of the competition. Both succumbed to Championship opposition.
Adam Reach awarded Sheffield a 1-0 win over Brighton at Amex Stadium. On the other hand, Anthony Knockaert and Harry Arter helped Fulham to a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Rochdale and Carlisle earn replays

Rochdale earned a replay after they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Newcastle. The Magpies took the lead through Miguel Almiron.
With 11 minutes left, a 40-year-old substitute, Aaron Wilbraham leveled with a close-range finish.
Carlisle secured their replay against Cardiff City. Nonetheless, they should have done better after squandering a two-goal lead.
Jack Bridge and Harry McKirdy placed the Cumbrians ahead. But a second-half goal from Callum Paterson and Gavin Whyte got the Bluebirds back on level terms.
Hartlepool took a surprising 1-0 lead into the half-time interval against Oxford United thanks to Mark Kitching.
However, the Yellows rallied and ran out 4-1 winners after Rob Hall, Shandon Baptiste, Tariqe Fosu-Henry and Matty Taylor found the net.

Premier League sides

Manchester United and Wolves will need a replay after their tie ended in a goalless draw.
Adam Idah netted a hat-trick on his FA Cup debut for Norwich. They were emphatic 4-2 winners over Preston.
Jay Rodrigues struck twice to award Burnley a 4-2 win over Peterborough with Erik Pieters and Jeff Hendrick also on target for the Clarets.
Southampton eased to a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield thanks to goals from Will Smallbone and Jake Vokins.
A brace from Philip Billing plus goals from Callum Wilson and Dominic Solanke ensured safe passage for Bournemouth as they cruised to a 4-0 over Luton.
Leicester City reached the fourth round with a 2-0 win over Wigan following a Tom Pearce’s own goal and a strike from Harvey Barnes.
