It is rightly said that big players thrive in pressure matches. Virat Kohli is definitely one of those players. It was much needed win match for Royal Challengers Banglore, and they won it superbly with a record breaking partnership between captain Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli.

Kohli scored an IPL after long four years in IPL, and this too in a winning cause which must have made his night special at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. RCB needed 188 runs to win on a relatively slow pitch but Faf and Kohli made it look easy as cake walk.

Kohli scored century in 62 balls and subsequently fell on that score, but by that time, the match was clearly pocketed by RCB. His opening partner Du Plessis scored magnificent 71 in 47 balls. When Natarajan dismissed Faf, RCB only needed 10 runs to win in 10 balls.

The remaining job was done by Glenn Maxwell and Michael Bracewell. With this crucial win, RCB has toppled Mumbai Indians from 4th position, now they sit on fourth with equal wins but superior run rate. This is second victory in 8 matches by RCB at this ground.

Heinrich Klaasen Played An Exceptional Knock

Today was a day when we witnessed two centuries in one match, one by an RCB batter Virat Kohli, and another special one by Heinrich Klaasen who played an mesmerising innings in front of his home crowd.

Klaasen scored his maiden IPL century in 49 balls, and it was definitely a masterclass. The way he played spin is best in the tournament. No other player has a higher average and strike when it comes to handling spinners, Klaasen is striking against spinners with a strike rate of 190.

Another fantastic knock from Klaasen ends in a losing cause, he must be feeling gutted but single players can’t win matches for a team alone. Unfortunately, today too, Klaasen fought alone, he did get support from other end, but it was nothing substantial.

The awful season has given some fine players to Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, their bowling lacked potency, nothing threatening concerning the batting line-up of opposing teams.

In the previous match, Hyderabad failed to chase 189 runs, today, they failed to defend 187 runs on board. This has been the story of SRH in IPL 2023.

What Is Next For Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Mumbai Indians on May 21 at Wankhede Stadium. That will be a must win game for Mumbai who will aim to topple RCB, only if Banglore don’t lose to Gujarat Titans at Chinnaswamy.

Hyderabad will hope to end its tournament on a winning note, that will cheer up the guys and definitely they will be spirited to give a win to their fans and a last smile.
