French defender Ibrahima Konate explained why managing his career is a family affair and how that approach helped secure his transfer to the Reds.

How was everything?

Ibrahima Konate, part of France’s squad for the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, caught Sochaux’s eye for the first time in his home country before moving on to boost his reputation in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. A £36m ($43m) move for the player to Anfield was then made in the summer of 2021 and it has been beneficial for the Frenchman to have brothers around him when it comes to advice and future planning.

What did Ibrahima Konate say?

The France national team defender spoke about why he has so much faith in family members that they know have been there since he started playing football. According to Ibrahima Konate, the more they grow and go through the stages in football, the more they realize that there are a lot of people around them trying to come. Sometimes they take stock and realize that the people around them have a personal interest. Ibrahima Konate says the family wants the best for him and they are the only people he can trust.

The highly ranked player added on the trial, which saw him contact the Premier League heavyweights, as Klopp skimped on his potential, that when they found out what the Reds were, they got together and talked. “Okay, there’s Liverpool, there’s Leipzig, what do we do now?” he said.

According to Konate, during their discussion, they look forward to the next four to five years, and each gives his own idea and his own point of view. Everyone says different things and no one will tell you that they are wrong. Ibrahima says it’s like a puzzle, once he puts together everyone’s points of view, he sees things more clearly and the decision is easier to make, but in the end it’s up to him to decide.
