India’s world-renowned players Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and the famous Krishna will all join the Leicestershire squad, which will be captained by opener Sam Evans. Out of these, Cheteshwar Pujara has played county cricket before and his performance was excellent.

The LCCC, BCCI and ECB have all agreed to allow up to four players from the visiting camp to be part of the Leicestershire squad, to allow all members of the traveling team to participate in matches (subject to fitness).
Matches will be played with 13 players per side to provide more flexibility and help manage the bowling workload. India arrived in Leicestershire on Sunday before they began their first training and nets session at Uptonsteel County Ground on Monday morning.
The world’s second-best Test-ranked team has trained for three days ahead of a four-day match against the Running Foxes starting tomorrow, ahead of the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston in early July.
There have been some big ups and downs in the Indian team. Ishant Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, who were part of the team last year, are no longer part of the team. Vice-captains KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin have both been unable to travel, after originally being selected in India’s 17-member Touring Party. Rahul is still unfit and Ashwin was infected with Kovid 19 due to which he could not travel to England with the team.
