Thiago and Alaba are in Flicks plans

Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick says Thiago Alcantara and David Alaba are still in his plans ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. But confirmed that Ivan Perisic is returning to Inter. Thiago has been closely linked to his departure from Allianz Arena in recent months. He have given up the option to renew his current contract after it expires next summer. Liverpool are believed to be leading the race to sign the Spain international. So Bayern are reportedly ready to authorize his departure if their €30 million price tag is met. The 29-year-old has publicly stated that he did not tell anyone he planned to leave the club before starring in La Roja’s 4-0 win over Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League.

Both players are preparing for the Bundesliga opening against Schalke

However, Bayern general director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has expressed his belief that Thiago will move to new pastures before the transfer window closes. Helping Flick’s men’s storm to Bundesliga, DFB Cup, and last-term Champions League glory. Alaba is also being tipped to depart. Chelsea and Manchester City among those credited with an interest in a defender. Who has yet to commit to a new deal with the German champions. Like Thiago, the Austrian is set to become a free agent in 2021. So it has been suggested that Bayern may look to cash in on a valuable asset so as not to waste it. Flick acknowledges the uncertainty about the pair’s current position. But insists that he will continue preparations for the Bundesliga’s opening against Schalke next Friday with both players in mind.

After Schalke’s match, Bayern look ahead to the UEFA Supercup final

“The situation is not so simple. While they are in the squad, I plan with both of them,” the Bayern Munich boss told reporters. Flick went on to show that the Bavarians decided against bringing Inter loanee Perisic to their books forever. He would be looking to get replacements for the Croatian, Philippe Coutinho, and Alvaro Odriozola in the coming weeks. “It was decided that we would no longer use these three,” the head coach of Germany said of Perisic and the two stars sent back to Barcelona and Real Madrid after the respective loan spells at Allianz Arena. “We are working to bring quality back to these positions.”

After Bayern Munich hosts Schalke, they will look ahead to the UEFA Super Cup final against Europa League winners Sevilla on 24 September, three days before taking on a trip to Hoffenheim.
