Manchester United Midfielder Fred has dubbed the Leeds United Elland Road Sunday’s clash with Manchester United as ‘English Football Clasico’.
The Red Devils pay a visit to Elland Road for EPL round 33 for the first time over 17 years. Fred talks up the rivalry between them lebled the duel as the EPL ‘Clasico.’
United trashed Leeds 6-2 in the Premier League first leg and the return match will probably be an exciting one. United carries an outstanding away form and a comeback spirit to Elland Road and Fred looks forward to the clash.
Speaking to ahead of their clash with Leeds he said he looks forward to this game as much as the fans do.
“Definitely, it’s an English football Clasico. We get a feel for this anticipation from social media,’ Fred said.
“The fans are excited about this game, as are we of course. We haven’t had a midweek game this week. So the anticipation for the next game increases and it’s a derby game against a massive rival,” he explains.
“It’ll be a really tough game but we’ll be preparing well for it this week,” the former Dortmund Midfielder added.
Also, Fred reflects on the first leg match at Old Trafford where United hit 6-2 on Leeds. Fred reveals he was not sure if the 6-2 win was the best performance after being asked if it was.
“I don’t know if it was our best performance of the season, [but] 6-2 was a great result of course. I think we’ve had better performances this season,” Fred replied.
“Scott’s two goals very early on helped us to control the game, but they’re very difficult opponents playing with such high intensity. They’re very strong and always looking to attack,” he continued.
“We’re prepared for this. We know how they play and we’ll aim to be at our very best to get the win,” Fred concluded.
